First ever Halal Food Festival in Toronto

As the name suggests, this was the first ever halal food festival in the city of Toronto.  And what a response from the locals!  Masha Allah, this past weekend, thousands of foodies converged to enjoy some of the best local, halal cuisines. Kudos to the organizers for taking the initiative and making it an enjoyable, unique experience.  Sure, there are improvements to be made (such as a bigger venue) but for an initial offering, it was great!  Sampling foods ranging from burgers, ribs, kebabs, churros, Indian pickles, and Persian sweets was a party in my mouth! And not once did I have that nagging thought ‘ohh, I wish I could try this but I’m not sure if it’s halal!’  I’m hopeful that this event will become a yearly feature on the calendars of Muslim activities in the GTA.  From all indications, it’s off to a good start…..

Now on to the good stuff, pictures of the HalalFoodFestTO

  1. What a great initiative, mashaAllah! It is indeed a blessing to be able to simply eat what you want without having to worry whether it’s halal or not.

    Love the pictures.
