It really is true that reminders are good for the believers.
Over the weekend, I attended a course called “From Darkness to Light” offered by the Al Maghrib Institute. This isn’t my first time attending an Al Maghrib double weekend seminar, but it surely is one of the best courses that I’ve been to. The instructor, Sh. Yasir Qadhi, did an amazing job of explaining the concept of Iman. I never knew that there are different levels at which one’s Iman can be at, and that Iman is not only to have belief in your heart but it’s also done through actions of our limbs and statements of our tongue. There are however different views to this concept and it was nice to learn about the other positions and evidences as well.
I can’t wait for the next weekend when this course will be completed by another instructor, Sh. Waleed Basyouni. If you ever have a chance to attend this course, I highly recommend that you take it, you won’t regret it and Insha Allah, it will help to increase your Iman. 🙂
A few gems from this past weekends learning :
- ‘Whatever cause you believe in, your lifestyle will reflect that’ – Yasir Qadhi
- Part of being a Muslim is having a bond with Allah and His Messengers as well as with other Muslims
- We should not assign Heaven or Hell to anyone, unless Allah or the Prophet (SAS) have explicitly said so, regardless of who they are.
- ‘The believer is like a pearl: wherever he goes, his beauty is ever with him’ – Malik ibn Dinar
